Galerie Hus - Biographie de Miguel BARCELO

Miquel Barcelo was born in 1957 in Mallorca (Spain). He took part to protest actions againt the political situation in Spain. He first worked in the beginning of the 1980âs with oxidized paintings, dirty marks from the weather. He had his first personal exhibition in France, in Toulouse and then participated to the Documenta VII of Kassel. He settled in Naples in 1983 where he uses ash and local pigments, then in Portugal by using sand, pebbles and seaweed. He goes in Africa in 1988 and works on the Niger river in 1991. At the sime time, he worked on lithographs, etching and ceramics. Today, he works in Paris, Mallorca and in Mali.
