Olivier DEBRE - Detailed biography

Olivier Debré was born on April 1920 in Paris. After his architecture and history studies he entered the class of Le Corbusier in 1939. After the end of WW2, he met Serge Poliakoff de Stäel and Soulages. In the 1960’s, he travelled through the United States and had an artistic revelation by meeting masters of Abstract Expressionism as Kline, Rothko and Olitski. He represents France in 1967 at the universal exhibition in Montréal. He becomes teacher in 1980 at the National School for arts in Paris until 1985. He died on June 1999 in Paris.
