1933 Friedlaender is interned in the first nazi camp.
1935 He ran away from Germany.
1939
1945 Friedlaender publishes his first series of etchings, Images du Malheur, testimony of the war's troubled times. He settled in Paris.
1949 Friedlaender opens a printmaking studio, the Atelier de l'Ermitage. First personal exhibition at La Hune gallery.
1952
1958
1966 Appointed Professor at the Academy of Salzburg, Friedlaender resumes painting, which he had abandoned in 1940.
1978 First retrospective at Musée d'art moderne in Paris.
1987 Large retrospective of his work at the Kunstahalle in Bremen, Germany.
1992 He died in Paris at 80.
